RADER QUARTET ADVANCES TO FINALS

CMSSL is thrilled to announce the Rader Quartet from our Young Artist Chamber Program (YACP) has advanced to the finals of the Saint Paul String Quartet Competition. This is the first group from St. Louis to ever advance. Congratulations to quartet members Theo Bockhorst, violin Ethan Mayer, violin Molly Prow, viola and Alex Cho, cello.

YACP is our partnership with the Preparatory Program of the Community Music School, which provides coaching and mentoring to student ensembles as well as numerous performance opportunities. Many of you heard these students participating in a performance conducted by Leonard Slatkin at our December Gala. They have also been featured at the opening of CMSSL subscription concerts.

The quartet will travel to the Twin Cities for the competition finals in mid-April. We salute CMSSL Education Coordinator, Alvin McCall and Vera Parkin, Artistic Director of the Preparatory Program-Community Music School as well as the coaches for their dedication and outstanding work with these young musicians.
