Post-Thanksgiving Greetings Chamber Friends,
I hope everyone had a pleasant T-Day with your loved ones. As we enter the busy holiday season, the coming week has several opportunities to hear some great music. Monday and Tuesday will see the return to The Chamber of one of our favorites, Nicholas McGegan. This coming Monday and Tuesday night Nic will be sharing music by a number of “Baroque Masters”…. namely Bach, Telemann, Corelli, Handel, and Salieri. Ann Choomack will be the soloist in a piccolo concerto by Vivaldi. A pair of concerti grossi by Handel and Corelli will feature violinists Angie Smart and Andrea Jarrett.
Our Concert Sponsor for this pair is our dear friend, Dr. Robert C. Packman. All ticket holders are invited to a reception after the concerts to celebrate Dr. Packman and Guest Artist, Nicholas McGegan.
Later in the week, you will be able to hear Nic with the St. Louis Symphony conducting music by two members of the Bach family…J.S. Bach and C.P.E. Bach. Those concerts are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
If you missed it or would like to savor the music again, don’t forget that our virtual performance of last week’s “Fantastic Classics” with Brian Woods, Joo Kim, Chris Tantillo and James Czyzewski becomes available for 72 hours at 12:00 AM on November 30-December 2. For those of you who love to watch the pianist’s hands, you will have plenty of chances to see Brian’s fingers flying over the keyboard with our “keyboard cam” The password is on your ticket and/or on your Virtual Subscription Pass.
Have a wonderful weekend, and please plan to join us on Monday or Tuesday evening with Nicholas McGegan for “Baroque Masters”.
Cheers,
Marc
The concert was just thrilling. Loved the pianist. Adored the Dvorak. Happy to see Leonard in such an intimate setting. Terrific evening! Thanks.
We deeply appreciate Chamber Music Society and the exquisite music they perform. Thank you for all the lovely music you have brought us over the years. We look forward to many more.
We are grateful to your beautiful, awe-inspiring CMSSL in our lives. As threadbare as our nation has become in so many ways, it is the regenerative power of music ant the arts that enthuses me. Keep on weaving! Thank you.
These concerts have been even better than I imagined. My hat off to your engineer- the sound quality exceeded that of most CDs I own of this repertoire. I also applaud Peter Henderson for tackling the Liszt this week. Thank you all so much for bringing so much light in these trying times.
Many thanks… for a very professionally presented performance of endearing music with the very best musicians.
Last night’s performance was, as usual, wonderful. We are looking forward to the next Chamber concert.
I just wanted to express to you and the board what an exceptional job you each have done during these very trying times. I regularly attend many venues during the course of the year. The Chamber Music Society has by far created the best experience.
CMSSL has been doing all it can in the way of creative, highly successful efforts to compensate for the agony of 2020. That’s been very much appreciated.
Thank you for a fantastic evening.
I really enjoyed the concert Monday. Nice camera work and sound.
