Due to the severe weather conditions and Excessive Heat Advisory in St. Louis, we will be postponing the Chamber Music Society of St Louis concert at the Enterprise Pavilion in Clayton’s Shaw Park, scheduled for Thursday, August 26, at 6 pm. The extreme heat poses a health risk to the CMSSL musicians, staff and audience. These weather conditions are dangerous for the very expensive musical instruments as well. It certainly would not be a pleasurable experience for our audience to listen to the music under these circumstances… this free concert is intended for your enjoyment. We are also mindful of the already difficult strain on our front line workers and do not want to provide any increased stress on the systems.
Here is the plan going forward. We are tentatively rescheduling for the planned “rain date” of Friday, August 27, at 6 pm…. BUT…. it is not expected that Friday will be much of an improvement weather-wise. We are working with our partners, the City of Clayton, Classic 107.3 and Ariel Premier Supply to find another date that will provide a better experience for everyone.
Please check the City of Clayton or Chamber Music Society of St. Louis websites for updates on the rescheduling of this program.
Thank you for your patience and understanding
Chamber Music Society of St. Louis
We deeply appreciate Chamber Music Society and the exquisite music they perform. Thank you for all the lovely music you have brought us over the years. We look forward to many more.
CMSSL has been doing all it can in the way of creative, highly successful efforts to compensate for the agony of 2020. That’s been very much appreciated.
Last night’s performance was, as usual, wonderful. We are looking forward to the next Chamber concert.
We are grateful to your beautiful, awe-inspiring CMSSL in our lives. As threadbare as our nation has become in so many ways, it is the regenerative power of music ant the arts that enthuses me. Keep on weaving! Thank you.
These concerts have been even better than I imagined. My hat off to your engineer- the sound quality exceeded that of most CDs I own of this repertoire. I also applaud Peter Henderson for tackling the Liszt this week. Thank you all so much for bringing so much light in these trying times.
Many thanks… for a very professionally presented performance of endearing music with the very best musicians.
I just wanted to express to you and the board what an exceptional job you each have done during these very trying times. I regularly attend many venues during the course of the year. The Chamber Music Society has by far created the best experience.
The concert was just thrilling. Loved the pianist. Adored the Dvorak. Happy to see Leonard in such an intimate setting. Terrific evening! Thanks.
Thank you for a fantastic evening.
What a wonderful venue, program, incredible musicians. Congratulations on such a great program and the hard work and effort it takes to achieve success for Chamber Music Society of St. Lous. Music is healing, and I thank you.
