The Tony Award-winning best choreographer for the incredible MJ The Musical, now pairs his rarely performed ballet with the sounds of a live chamber orchestra. Inspired by the gold and shimmering hues of Gustav Klimt’s paintings, Christopher Wheeldon created Within the Golden Hour for 14 dancers, and set it to music by Vivaldi (score by Bosso).
Saint Louis Ballet collaborates with Chamber Music Society of Saint Louis, whose performances demonstrate “instrumental brilliance”. (Saint Louis Post-Dispatch, 2019) Concluding the program is the dazzling Romantique by artistic director Gen Horiuchi. Chamber Music Society’s jazz trio and classical cellist complement the energy and style of the dancers.
