Susan Veidt - Board Members

Susan joined Fleishman-Hillard, Inc. in 1986 as an Account Executive.  She eventually held the positions of President of the U.S. Central Region and General Manager of the St. Louis Office of Fleishman-Hillard until she retired in 2018.  At one time Susan led more than 200 public relations counselors and support staff for the leading global communications consultancy.  She and her team oversaw a client portfolio that included SBC Communications, Emerson, United Parcel Service, Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the NCAA, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Beginning in January 2002, Susan served on the senior management committee of Fleishman-Hillard, the top management group that sets strategic direction for the firm.  She was one of the firm’s senior partners (since 1998), and managed some of the firm’s largest multi-office accounts, including SBC and ConAgra. Susan led her team to earn 20 industry awards for the firm’s clients

In 1992, Susan led a team that won the Silver Anvil award which honors outstanding strategic public relations programs.  Fleishman-Hillard was recognized with another Silver Anvil when Susan’s company teamed with Ralston Purina to create a public awareness campaign supporting the first national pet adoption and education program for children.

Susan was also the driving force behind much of the volunteer work the company does.  She marshaled the resources of her firm to provide significant pro bono support for local and regional institutions, including the Saint Louis Symphony, the American Red Cross, Forest Park Forever, the St. Louis Area Council Boy Scouts of America, and the office of former St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay.

Previous to her work at Fleishman-Hillard, Susan served as Director of Community Relations for Christian Hospital (Northeast- Northwest) and as Communications Coordinator for the Normandy School District.

Her community service included work as a Board Member of the St. Louis Symphony, United Way of Greater St. Louis, Inc., and Forest Park Forever, Inc.
