AIDAN IP IS THE 15-16 YOUTH ORCHESTRA CONCERTO COMPETITION WINNER

A member of the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis Young Artist Chamber Program in partnership with the Prep Department of the Community Music School at Webster University, Aidan is a member of the Rader Quartet. St. Louis native Aidan Ip began his violin study at the age of six. At fifteen years old, this is his second season in the STL Symphony Youth Orchestra. Aidan comes from a musical family, his mother Ann Hirschl is a former member of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and also a former musician for the STL Symphony. His uncle is a cellist with the Chicago Symphony. Aidan is a student in the Kirkwood School District and was first chair in the Kirkwood North Middle School Orchestra. Aidan currently studies violin with John McGrosso. This past summer Aidan participated in the Innsbrook Music Festival. As a Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition winner, Aidan is awarded a cash scholarship and the opportunity to perform a short work for solo violin and orchestra at an STL Symphony Youth Orchestra concert at Powell Hall.
