“To welcome the maestro back and celebrate its own successful first decade, the society is throwing an anniversary gala, … sponsored by the Centene Charitable Foundation, it will feature a red-carpet arrival for VIP guests, cocktail reception, dinner, and concert with music by well-known film composers like John Williams and Aaron Copland. The evening’s guest of honor will play the piano and regale the audience with tales of his family’s connections with those major talents… the gala also will honor Slatkin’s late parents, violinist/conductor Felix Slatkin and cellist Eleanor Aller. And his son, Daniel, is writing the score for a special video about the musical family.” ~Julia M. Johnson
“’Notes from Hollywood – The Sequel’ will feature music from award-winning film composers, along with stories and comments from the maestro on stage. Slatkin will also be honored with a proclamation from the Mayor’s Office declaring the day of the event as Leonard Slatkin Day in St. Louis. -Trish Muyco-Tobin
Hosts for the Gala include Honorary Chairman Noémi K. Neidorff, Co-Chairs Thomas R. and Carol J. Voss and Host Committee Co-Chairs Miran Halen, Mary Forsyth and Faith Berger. VIP packages for the event will be available and include valet parking, pre-concert cocktails, preferred concert seating, a post-concert dinner by Butler’s Pantry, and a copy of Slatkin’s book Leading Tones.
